Brainspark Games secures £1.4 million funding to develop AI-driven educational mobile games
London-based Brainspark Games has raised £1.4 million from its seventh Innovate UK Investor Partnership grant and match-funded angel investment.
The round was led by FOV Ventures partners Dave Haynes and Petri Rajahalme, along with The Games Angels’ Wahed Ventures and Nick Button-Brown. Additional investments came from Islée Oliva Salinas, Michael A. C. Buckley, Märt Lume, Sadik Miah, and other anonymous backers, including veterans in games, education, and seasoned investors.
The funds will be used to develop technology, production, and sales talent. £700,000 of this amount is from the Innovate UK grant, bringing Brainspark’s total grants to £1.3 million. Matched by investors, the total fundraising from this round is £1.4 million.
Founded by Reedah El-Saie, Brainspark is focused on creating AI-powered mobile games aligned with the UK national curriculum, covering subjects like History, Maths, and English Literature. El-Saie also invested £470,000 in seed funding.
"FOV Ventures believes we’re entering a new era of increasingly intelligent and immersive apps and experiences," said Haynes. "We’re excited for Brainspark Games and Reedah's mission to radically enhance how the UK curriculum can be delivered to diverse students."
In other news, Juicy Button Games recently raised $3 million in a seed round led by The Games Fund to create a mobile-first 4X strategy title.
