Former employees of Homa successfully raise $1.5 million for their platform, PlayMakers

Former employees of Homa have successfully secured $1.5 million in pre-seed funding for their new venture, PlayMakers, a user-generated content platform. Founded by former Homa publishing managers Ilan Nabeth and Costantino Carrega, alongside ex-Infineon Technologies automation engineer Maxime Niankouri, PlayMakers aims to revolutionize game development by providing a suite of tools accessible to developers of all sizes.

Based in Paris, PlayMakers plans to empower players by enabling them to create their own content for games using cutting-edge technology. This includes assets such as 3D characters, animations, music, and more, allowing for unprecedented levels of customization and player engagement.

The funding round, led by RockawayX, attracted notable investors such as Sandbox co-founder Sébastien Borget, Homa founder Vincent Hart de Keating, and former Xbox France Managing Director Hugues Ouvard, demonstrating strong support for PlayMakers' vision.

CEO Ilan Nabeth emphasized the growing trend of players becoming creators, driven by advancements in generative AI and increasing player vocalization. With PlayMakers, Nabeth envisions a platform that empowers both small and large game studios to involve their players in the game creation process, ultimately leading to accelerated game growth and enhanced player satisfaction.

Nabeth outlined PlayMakers' ambition to establish a new industry standard, allowing players to create and contribute content to their favorite games while being rewarded for their contributions. Through fostering a passionate and engaged community, studios supported by PlayMakers are poised to achieve rapid and sustained growth.

As PlayMakers embarks on its journey to transform the gaming landscape, the company's commitment to innovation and community engagement positions it as a significant player in the evolving gaming industry.
