In 2023, a record-breaking 26 mobile apps join the Billion-Dollar Club, surpassing the previous year's achievement

In 2023, over two dozen apps and games entered the prestigious Billion-Dollar Club, surpassing the remarkable milestone of $1 billion in lifetime revenue, according to data.ai. This achievement, which includes notable names like Audible, ESPN, and League of Legends: Wild Rift, solidifies their position in the industry's elite echelon.

While this marks a slight increase from the 23 apps in 2022, it falls just short of the 2021 record of 28 apps. The figures underscore the sustained growth and financial success of select mobile apps. Notably, the spike in 2020, driven by increased consumer spending during the pandemic peak, marked a substantial increase compared to previous years.

Breaking down the achievements by category, Sports and Entertainment comprised a significant portion of the apps reaching this financial milestone in 2023, each with two entries. In the gaming landscape, Roleplaying Games (RPGs) emerged as the most prominent category, contributing five out of the 19 titles that achieved the billion-dollar mark. Strategy secured the second spot, with four titles reaching the milestone.
