Mobile version of World of Tanks is makings its Tankfest debut this week
Wargaming, the online games developer, has announced that its popular game World of Tanks will be the main sponsor of Tankfest 2023, an event held at the Tank Museum in Dorset, England. This marks the twelfth year of partnership between Wargaming and the museum, which houses over 300 vehicles and is Dorset's largest indoor attraction.
In previous collaborations, Wargaming and the Tank Museum have worked together on projects such as an education center and support for restoration initiatives. This year, World of Tanks Blitz, the game's mobile version, will be featured at Tankfest for the first time. Mobile gamers on iOS, Android, Steam, and Nintendo Switch can participate, with cross-play compatibility available.
Wargaming is also supporting the charity Veterans with Dogs as part of the event. They have introduced an emblem of a real assistance dog named Ferris into the game, and for the next 10 days, they will donate to the charity for every customization made by UK and EU players using this emblem.
Krešimir Gusak, Senior Product Manager at World of Tanks, expressed pride in working with Veterans with Dogs and bringing awareness to their cause. The charity's CEO, MacLellan, expressed delight at Ferris joining the game, emphasizing his role as a community dog and representative for their organization.
In addition to this sponsorship announcement, it is worth noting that in June of the previous year, Wargaming supported Ukraine by pulling out of Russia and Belarus and establishing new studios in Poland and Serbia.
