Whiteout Survival achieves a remarkable milestone, surpassing $400 million in just 11 months

Since its debut on February 12, 2023, the apocalyptic app Whiteout Survival has garnered nearly 30 million downloads in just 11 months, with a significant player base in the US leading with 19%. This translates to approximately 5.7 million downloads, surpassing Japan's second-place position with 7%, equivalent to 2.1 million downloads, according to AppMagic data. Turkey holds the third position with 6% of downloads, followed by South Korea, Germany, and Brazil.

As it approaches the half-billion mark, Whiteout Survival's biggest spender is identified in the US, contributing 33% of the $400 million generated so far, surpassing $130 million from this region alone. South Korea follows as the second-largest territory for spending, contributing 20% of earnings ($80 million), despite representing only 5% of global downloads. Japan mirrors its installs exactly, accounting for 7% of revenue contribution ($28 million).

While strategy games continued to generate significant revenues in 2023, with four titles reaching the coveted $1 billion milestone, there is a suggestion that the strategy genre might be experiencing a decline in yearly revenue. This is attributed to its reliance on a small but monetized player base.

Century Games, founded in 2010, has evolved into an international company with over 1,100 employees globally, specializing in crafting mobile and Roblox games. Notable titles in their catalog include Family Farm Adventure, Dragonscapes Adventure, Idle Courier, and Frozen City, the latter serving as a precursor to the success of Whiteout Survival as another snowy survival game.

Beyond game development, Century Games is exploring opportunities in VR, XR, and AI, demonstrating a commitment to shaping the future of gaming. With the remarkable success of Whiteout Survival, the developer appears well on its way to achieving this goal.
