KLab has revived development on a 2020 mobile game based on JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure
Japanese mobile games developer KLab has resumed work on a "mobile online game" inspired by the anime JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure in collaboration with Wanda Cinemas Games.
Initially announced in 2020, KLab had secured distribution rights for the game but faced delays due to issues with its previous development partner. Now partnered with Beijing-based Wanda Cinemas Games and retaining rights from 2020, KLab is set to bring the JoJo title to completion.
The game is scheduled for a global launch in 2026, with possible earlier availability in Japan. Details like the game's official title and gameplay specifics are anticipated in future updates.
Originally serialized in 1987, JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure has seen numerous adaptations, including the ongoing anime series. KLab has confirmed that the game will draw from the anime series rather than the manga, staying true to its iconic style.
KLab, known for its collaborations with Japanese IP holders, has a track record of delivering popular titles like Captain Tsubasa: Dream Team and Bleach: Brave Souls, which reached 90 million downloads globally in April 2023.
Additionally, Pocket Pair has joined forces with KLab to develop a new hybrid casual game, leveraging each other's strengths in game development and mobile online gaming.
