Matchingham Games wins Rising Star award at the Google App Summit in Dublin

Matchingham Games, a UK-based developer, has been honored with a Rising Star Award at Google's App Summit in Dublin, signifying recognition and acclaim for their significant achievements in recent years. This recognition comes on the heels of Matchingham's notable acquisition of two intellectual properties (IPs) from Turkish studio Pow Games in an $11.7 million deal. The company has also built a robust portfolio of hybrid casual games, including the Braindom series and other quiz-based games, in addition to publishing titles from around 20 studios worldwide.

Fatih Haltas, the CEO of Matchingham, expressed his gratitude and emphasized the award's importance, stating, "This award is a testament to our team’s relentless commitment to creating engaging and high-quality games. It provides validation that we are on the right path to achieving our vision, and it motivates us to continue pushing the boundaries of what’s possible in the gaming industry. We are deeply grateful for this acknowledgment from Google, and it inspires us to maintain our momentum and deliver even more exciting and enjoyable gaming experiences to our users in the future."

Such awards extend beyond mere recognition, serving as a showcase to the broader business and gaming community that the recipients have built strong foundations and achieved success, even during challenging times. Earning a Rising Star award from Google is a significant honor that underscores Matchingham's achievements and positions them as a standout in the gaming industry.

With their investments, publishing initiatives, and a portfolio of their own successful games, Matchingham Games appears well-prepared to navigate the dynamic gaming market, especially in light of the challenges faced by more established studios that overextended themselves during the COVID-19 pandemic, leading to layoffs.
