Roblox allows users to create games for players ages 17 and up
Roblox has announced expanding its game creation capabilities to users aged 17 and up. Players will need to verify their ages to develop and access experiences on the platform. This verification process will involve uploading a photo of themselves and a government-issued ID.
The company has stated that the content created for users aged 17 and up may contain elements such as intense violence, realistic blood, crude humor, romantic themes, unplayable gambling content, and the presence of alcohol.
Roblox users can expect this new content rollout in the coming weeks. This move aligns with Roblox's strategy to attract older users to the platform, as the 16 to 24 age group experienced faster growth in 2020 compared to its core group of users under 13.
By expanding the age range for game creation, Roblox aims to cater to a broader audience and provide more diverse and engaging experiences on its platform.
